Ever since I was young, I’ve always loved language. I like learning new words, reading, writing, and being able to speak and write eloquently. For some reason, it has always come easy to me, and in return, I’ve always enjoyed it. As I got older, I found that I had no outlet for writing. I had no reason to write and nothing to write about, or so I thought. However, I still find that I want to write. I want to connect with people through the written word. I considered writing a book, or writing short stories, but didn’t feel like that gave me the opportunity to truly connect in the way that I want to in this stage of life. As we were planning our honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, I was researching everything about all-inclusive resorts and I realized there were not as many resources available to me as I wanted. I would read articles or posts that didn’t seem to encompass the information that I was looking for. I told Kelsey then that I should start a blog, because I feel like someone shouldn’t have to do as much work as I was doing to find the information I was finding. I enjoyed the research and found that I was good at it, but I know most people don’t want to do that much work just to be able to make an informed decision regarding their next vacation. As we talked more about it, we came up with many topics that I could write about in the travel space, so I decided to give it a go. This blog may flop, and that’s okay if it does. I just enjoy the writing. It is an outlet for me, and if it allows me to connect with even one person, then it is worth it.
